Q: What Should Children Bring to their Kids Ski Lesson?
A: Children should have waterproof snow pants and jackets, one pair of warm socks (and perhaps a back-up pair on hand just in case), a pair of waterproof gloves, long underwear (top and bottom) and possibly a mid-layer such as a synthetic sweatshirt or sweater depending on the child. Neck gaiters are also recommended on colder days. Helmets are provided as part of the lesson, but if the child has their own, they should bring that as well.
Q: What will my child have for lunch?
A: Lunch is not offered on weekend or holiday sessions, for the 20 - 21 season due to space limitations. Mid week non-holiday sessions will offer lunch. Choices include chicken nuggets, pizza or hot dogs. Additionally, children have their choice of macaroni and cheese, apples, oranges, or yogurt as sides. Children can choose from a selection of juices, chocolate or regular milk, water, and hot chocolate to drink. Double lunch may be purchased for an additional fee of $10.
Q: Food Allergies?
A: KidsRule is a peanut free zone. Gluten-free options are available from the cafeteria upon request. Please be sure to notify us of all food allergies when registering for KidsRule!
Q: Can I pack a lunch for my child?
A: Yes, but it can not be left in the Burbank Children's Center. We do ask that your child remind his or her instructor at lunchtime that they have brought their own lunch!
Q: When will my child eat lunch?
A: Luch is available Monday – Friday, non-holiday, only and is served at noon for all participants.
Q: Can I see my child at lunch?
A: The KidsRule area in Burbank is for staff and children only. Parents are more than welcome to stop in and ask staff to check on their child. KidsRule staff will locate the child and bring them to greet the parents. It is recommended that parents stop by 15-20 minutes after lunch begins, allowing the KidsRule staff time to confirm that each group has arrived and is seated!
Q: Where do KisRule sessions begin & end?
A: Sessions begin and end at the Sugar House, which is adjacent to parking lot #2. Just look for the KidsRule flags at the bottom of the Magic Carpet!
Q: Will I be called if there is a problem or emergency?
A: Yes! KidsRule desk staff makes sure to obtain a phone number where the parent or guardian may be reached while the child is in KidsRule.
Q: Can I leave the mountain?
A: We do not recommend leaving the resort while your child is enrolled in the program.
Q: Can I leave my child’s medication with you?
A: KidsRule staff CAN NOT administer injections/medication to children. However, the medication may be left at the desk or on the child’s person. In the event of an emergency, the parent will be called, and first-aid will be contacted.
Q: If my child is progressing, will the instructor move him/her up?
A: Yes! KidsRule staff are constantly assessing their students and will make the necessary adjustments so children are in the correct level class.
Q: Can I pick up my child’s rental equipment prior to their scheduled session?
A: Yes! We encourage you to stop by the afternoon or evening prior to your scheduled session to pick up your child’s equipment, especially on weekends and during holiday periods. It helps keep the next day more relaxed for everyone! The Burbank Children's Center is open form 4 - 8 pm, Fridays, Saturdays and during holiday periods for early pick-up.
Q: My child’s friend/cousin/sibling is in KidsRule today. Can they be in the same class?
A: If the children are the same age and level, they can most likely be in the same class. If not, we would group them according to either the youngest age or lowest ability. This arrangement can be made with the on-snow supervisor.
Note: Your child is not guaranteed to ride with an instructor on the chairlift.
