Operational Information for Winter 2021-22

We have listed the most frequently asked questions below, to keep you informed of our latest operational proceedures for the 2021-22 winter season. Guidelines can vary widely from area to area. We feel strongly that our guidelines provide a safe and healthy environment for you, other guests, and our staff.

Health & Safety

Will I need to wear a face covering at the resort?

All persons, vaccinated and unvaccinated, are strongly recommended to wear masks covering their nose and mouth when in indoor settings, unless in the act of eating or drinking, or in their condominium or rental unit. ​Please check back frequently for updates, as guidelines and operational procedures may change at any time.

What are the requirements for your employees?

All Jiminy Peak employees, vaccinated and unvaccinated, must wear masks covering their nose and mouth when in indoor settings, unless in the act of eating or drinking.

Lift Tickets

I am a season pass holder, do I need to make a reservation?

No. We do not require reservations from season pass holders. You are welcome to use your pass any day/time that it is valid!

Do I need to purchase a lift ticket in advance?

We recommend making your purchase in advance to ensure your spot, since we will continue to limit capacity this winter season. We cannot guarantee that lift tickets will be available for purchase at the ticket window, especially on weekends, holidays, and during holiday periods. We strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets online, in advance, regardless of when you plan to visit. Click here to pre-purchase lift tickets.   

How will lift tickets be structured this winter season?

We plan to continue to sell our lift tickets in 8-hour, 4-hour and Twilight blocks as we have in the past, subject to capacity limits. Remember that our lift tickets start when you do, so you are not rushed to arrive first thing in the morning to get full use out of whatever ticket you choose. Your time will begin when you go through the Axess gate for the first time.

SnowSports, Rentals & Child Care

Will lessons be available this winter?

Yes! We will offer both Group and Private Lessons this winter. Pre-purchase is strongly recommended for all lessons, as availability may be limited. 

KidsRule®

  • Full-day sessions will be available daily, from 9:30 – 11:30 am, and resume 1 – 3:30 pm. This includes a full day of lessons, a lift ticket, and cocoa breaks.
    • Lunch will not be included in KidsRule® this season, due to space limitations.
    • Parents are asked to pick up their child / children promptly at 11:30, provide lunch, and return them to the program at 1 pm.
  • Pre-purchase is strongly recommended for KidsRule®. Click here to reserve your spot. 
  • KidsRule® lessons are for ages 4-14. 

1st Time Ski / Snowboard Lessons

  • Our 1st Time Ski & Snowboard Lessons are an all-inclusive experience for those guests who have never had a ski or snowboard lesson from a professional instructor. 
  • Level I package includes all rental equipment (including a helmet), a 90-minute group lesson and a lower mountain lift ticket, valid until 6pm.
  • Level II package includes all rental equipment (including a helmet), a 90-minute group lesson and an All-Mountain 8 hour lift ticket. 
    • Each level may only be taken once.  
  • Pre-registered participants should go directly to the Doc Maynard Building to be outfitted with everything they will need for a day of fun! 
  • Pre-purchase is strongly recommended, especially on weekends, holidays, and during holiday periods. Click here for all the details.

Group & Private Lessons

  • We offer both Group and Private lessons for our guests.
  • Private Lessons are offered daily, every half hour, from 9 am - 3 pm. 
  • Group Lessons will be available weekends, holidays and during holiday periods, at 11 am, only.     
  • Private or Group lessons are for guests who have taken at least one lesson from a professional instructor. Those who have never taken a lesson from a professional instructor should visit our 1st Time Ski / Snowboard Lesson program. 
  • Pre-purchase is strongly recommended for all lessons, especially on weekends, holidays, and during holiday periods. 

Multi-Week Programs

  • After School and Weekend Programs are available for groups of 20+. A 6-week program is available Mon - Fri, day or evening, and on Sundays, after 3 pm, with or without instruction. We will throw in a 7th week free for all groups as a thank you for your participation!  
  • Mountain Adventure will be available for kids ages 6 - 17, from 9:30 am - 1 pm, on non-holiday Saturdays or Sundays.
  • Women’s Winter Escape will be offered as a half-day or full-day program, on non-holiday Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

Can I rent equipment this winter?

Yes, we will have rental equipment available for our guests. Please familiarize yourself with the following procedures.  

  • All persons, vaccinated and unvaccinated, must wear masks covering their nose and mouth when in indoor settings, unless in the act of eating or drinking. 
  • Pre-purchasing rentals, at least 36-hours in advance, is highly recommended. Pre-purchase rentals here.
    • There will be a separate line for guests who have pre-purchased. 
  • Pre-registering for rentals simply enters your information into our rental database, so you don't have to enter your data upon arrival.   
    • Pre-registered guests will be outfitted, along with walk-ins, on a first-come-first-served basis. 
  • If you do not know what size ski or snowboard you require, please do not guess! It is better to leave this blank and let our staff pick the size, based on height and weight. 
  • All equipment will be sanitized according to CDC recommended guidelines, after each use.
  • Personal belongings (shoes, bags, food, etc.) will not be permitted to be left in the rental shop. Paid lockers (utilizing electronic credit card payment) are available in the lower levels of JJ’s Lodge and Crane Lodge and are subject to availability. There are a limited number of unsecured storage cubicles in the lower level of Crane Lodge, and are subject to availability. Outdoor bag storage will be available free of charge, on weekends, holidays and during holiday periods, under the tent in between JJ's and Crane Lodges.

Is childcare available?

No, the Cub’s Den playroom will be closed this winter season.

Lodges & Dining

Will lodges be open to the public?

Our lodges will be open this winter. We ask that you limit your time in the lodge to approximately 40 minutes, during peak times, to allow as many guests as possible the chance to stop in, grab something to eat or drink and warm up. We have installed multiple HEPA filters in all indoor spaces in an effort to minimize air-borne particulate in these common areas.   

Personal belongings (shoes, bags, food, etc.) will not be permitted to be left in the eating areas of the lodges on weekends, holidays and during holiday periods. Paid lockers (utilizing electronic credit card payment) are available in the lower levels of JJ’s Lodge and Crane Lodge and are subject to availability. There are a limited number of unsecured storage cubicles in the lower level of Crane Lodge, and are subject to availability. Outdoor bag storage will be available free of charge, on weekends, holidays and during holiday periods, under the tent in between JJ's and Crane Lodges.  

 

Will the bathrooms be open?

Yes, bathrooms in JJ's Lodge, Crane Lodge, and the Welcome Center, will be open for public use. 

Will locker rooms be open?

Yes, locker rooms will be open. 

What food options will be available?

Most dining outlets will be open this winter. Powder Maker’s, on JJ’s Patio, and a food truck adjacent to Crane Patio, will provide additional food outlets. Christiansen's Tavern and John Harvard's will be open for eat-in and take-out service.  Find out more about dining options, including hours of operation, on the Dining page.

Parking

Will shuttles be available?

Details are still being worked out, but we do plan on offering shuttle service when using remote parking lots. Capacity on each shuttle is yet TBD, but face coverings will be required when on board, per Massachusetts Dept. of Health. If you are parking in a remote lot and need to use the shuttle service, we ask you to utilize our drop off zone so only one member of your party has to ride the shuttle. This will allow for faster, less crowded service for all.  

Can I valet park my car?

Valet parking services will be available, courtesy of Valet Park America, this season. Valet service will be available on weekends, holidays and during holiday periods from mid-December through mid-March, at a cost of $25. 

Mountain Operations

How will chairlifts be loaded?

Chairlifts will be loaded at full capacity this season.

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday, non-holiday, hours are 9 am - 10 pm. Weekends, holidays, and during holiday periods, hours are 8:30 am - 10 pm. Christmas Eve (12/24) we close at 4 pm and Christmas Day (12/25) we open at 9:30 am.  Be sure to check the Snow Report page for the most up-to-date operating information and hours, prior to your visit. 

Lodging

Is lodging available?

Yes! Our Country Inn and Jiminy Peak vacation homes are booking now for the winter season. Reserve your stay online or call a reservation agent at (413) 738-5500.

If I am a lodging guest, am I guaranteed a spot on the mountain?

Only if you have reserved a package that includes lift tickets. Otherwise you must pre-purchase a lift ticket(s) to ensure your spot(s). Capacity will be limited this season and we expect to sell out on certain Saturdays, holidays and holiday periods.
