Powder Day!

Powder Day!

Author: Tyler/Thursday, February 9, 2017/Categories: Trail Mix

Holy Powder, insane skiing at Jiminy today-  I grew up skiing this mountain, and have been fortunate to have skied all over the US and in Europe.  I can honestly say today was some of the best skiing I have ever had.  Yes ever!  We got hit hard this morning with a storm that stalled out over us and it was snowing 2-4 inches an hour.  And it was light fluffy champagne snow…kinda like that stuff that comes off Salt Lake, or you see at Jackson Hole.  It didn’t start until 5 am so the groomers were just about done and all of this white gold was untouched and on top of perfect corduroy.  We went out early and hit Foxes, Wild Turkey, Nor’easter, Jericho and Panorama and I never once saw my skis while skiing.  The snow was to my knees and no matter how steep the trail, it was just a free falling rhythmical float down the mountain.  Fresh unspoiled powder everywhere. I skied my first runs with Paul Maloney in years (man, he can still turn’em…. for an ole man ;-) seriously, that man can ski).  I also got in some runs with Sherrie, Clark and Helen from Snowsports (in the photo)…super fun...and Clark convinced his wife he was actually working today, imagine that?!  I ran into people in the base lodge that called in sick to work to come skiing (we don’t condone that, but it was an epic day, just sayin).  The skiing over the next few days will be incredible, and there is a possibility for another storm just like this Sunday night.  Anyway, I could go on and on…but I just had to share because this, my gravity addicted friends, is what it is all about!

Talk to you soon.
