Recovery Galore

Recovery Galore

Author: Tyler/Saturday, January 14, 2017/Categories: Trail Mix

Recovery Galore-  Jiminy looks awesome this morning.  After the rain and warm temps the past few days, we were concerned about the quality of the snow surface.  We put together a plan to get about 80% of the mountain covered with “dust-and-run” snowmaking (which is strategy to quickly cover as much of the mountain with new snow as possible to top dress the skiing surface).  Jim, Brian and I just took a quick tour of the mountain before we opened and we were super impressed with the quality of the snow surface.  Not only do our guns make a ton of snow quickly, but the snow crystals are bigger and can withstand the rain and warmer temps better….this helps with quality big time.  Anxious to see how the surface holds up with a big day of skiers today.  Going back it tonight to dust-and-run again.  This is a big weekend for us and we want to do everything possible to give our guest the best experience we can.

Talk to you soon.
